I finally fell off the lazy wagon and start exercising again and BAM! I get one heck of a nasty cold. Sore throat, fever, nasty cough etc... I take it easy that weekend and try to sleep it off and get through the worst of it and back to work on Monday. I felt ok on Monday, just a bit of a cough. Tuesday rolls around and I still have the cough but I feel fine. So on Wednesday, I decide to go for a nice small jog. It was torture. My lungs felt like I had sand in them. I kept coughing and hacking and only made it about a mile. My body was obviously not getting enough Oxygen. My legs were really sore for 2 days.
I have been doing push-ups and sit-ups and squats and lunges since in order to give my lungs time to get all the crud out of it. Which, by the way, has been disgusting. I think I'm on the tail end of it now and will go for a mile walk/jog to see how my lungs are working.
New blog follower? DONE! :-) Exercise can actually inhibit your recovery. Proceed with caution!! I imagine it gets cold in the ID, so colds are probably fairly common.
